Like many who try to get fit and lose weight… I fell off the wagon slightly. Last year went so well – I lost nearly two stone, completed a 130+ mile bike ride in one day, did a charity ride of a marathon a day for a month. Epic! But… then I took a break… then Christmas came… then lockdown and it all went to ****. So, with a stone and a half back on, I’ve now committed to myself (and the random people that happen to stumble on this blog) that I need to get fitter again and finally reach my target weight of around 190 pounds. That’s 36 pounds to go!
I have a holiday coming up as the first goal so my current plan for the next two weeks is:
Diet – I’m back on Huel which is amazing and perfectly fits my lifestyle. I have now received a months supply of the new Black version which is much higher in protein and no artificial sugar, which is great. I’ll be doing a drastic calorie drop of 800 calories per day for two weeks to get things kick-started. I will be mixing full meals in and I won’t be just having Huel every day (I made some mushroom pizzas today which were delicious and only 400 calories!), but most days it will be the grainy goodness only.
Exercise – A minimum of 30 minutes of cycling on the turbo trainer per day. I think any more than that would be crazy considering the calorie deficit.
This is the current plan for the next two weeks and although it’s drastic, it is taking into consideration that I’m now in the “obese” category according to the NHS, it is based on research and careful monitoring of things like heart rate etc.
3 days in and going strong – let’s see how this goes!
